Theta Lake Expands Its Compliance & Security Coverage For Microsoft Teams With Call Recording Compliance Certification

Theta Lake already offered a robust suite of compliance and security integrations across Microsoft Teams Meetings, Teams Chat, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365. But now that they have achieved call recording compliance certification for the Microsoft Teams platform, users now have a validated platform they can trust to record calls, supervise, and assure compliance.

The company’s purpose-built compliance suite not only provides full recording, capture, and archiving of voice calling and video meetings, but also leverages multiple Microsoft APIs to capture, archive, supervise, detect, and remediate risks in Microsoft Teams Chat across all chat types, including private and group chats, files shared from SharePoint and OneDrive, stickers, images, files, reactions, URLs, and emoji content shared within those chats. Theta Lake offers Microsoft users choice in that they can use Theta Lake’s SEC 17a-4, WORM compliant archive or their existing archive leveraging Theta Lake’s extensive third party archive integrations.

Recognising a need fulfilled

This certification brings with it Microsoft’s coveted co-sell ready status, and is a powerful endorsement of Theta Lake’s capabilities, as VP Business Development and Operations, Anthony Cresci, explained:

“Microsoft partners with ISVs to provide critical recording capabilities for Microsoft Teams Meetings. Theta Lake is excited to be one of a select group of vendors to pass rigorous testing and security reviews to achieve compliance recording certification and one of the only full analysis and supervision for video, voice, and chat meeting content.

“Now organizations can selectively record, capture, and archive voice, video, chat (including in-meeting chat) communications to meet regulatory requirements as well as supervise to better protect firms and their employees

New certification for a new world of work

The demand is clearly there from customers contemplating an ongoing distributed future in highly regulated industries, and Theta Lake has Global 500 and Fortune 500 enterprises leveraging their robust integrations and capabilities for Microsoft Teams. Every organisation is keen to unlock the full capabilities of Microsoft Teams and the rich features it offers, but many have had to wait for effective supervision and compliance tools to make it safe to do so.

And customers need this now, as the world adjusts to making trust work at a distance — reassuring their own clients of effective supervision and compliance, wherever their work is being carried out:

“Building and safeguarding customer trust has never been more critical,” said Daniel Bosman, Managing Director and Vice President, TD Securities.  Compliance is designed to create a more transparent and trustworthy relationship with clients and knowing that it is a core focus for Microsoft and Theta Lake is key for regulated organizations like TD Securities. Microsoft’s program around driving integrated innovation for compliance, coupled with the time and rigor Microsoft and Theta Lake devoted to certify the integration, indicates that both companies are deeply invested in delivering market ready capabilities.”

The co-seller ready status means intensified alignment with Microsoft and their resellers

Theta Lake is a unique addition to this roster as the most innovative provider present. As Suhail Nimji, VP of Strategic Partnerships for Theta Lake explained, “Theta Lake has decades of experience building security and compliance solutions, our technology and offerings are extremely sophisticated and thoughtfully developed from the ground up to be entirely focused on creating a more efficient, effective, and consistent compliance program for unified communications. Those enabling Microsoft within their organizations that use our solutions now have peace of mind to fully utilize all aspects of the platform across both regulated and non-regulated users.”
