Market Development Representative (MDR)
The Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Market Development Representative (MDR) to join our growing Marketing team. The MDR will be instrumental in maintaining data quality, nurturing leads, and supporting the growth of our business. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, data augmentation and effective communication to generate lead conversion through to our Sales Development Representative (SDR) organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Quality & Enrichment:
Audit our existing lead database to ensure data completeness and validity. Work with our enrichment vendors to augment data required to define our ICP & personas and automate a process for new inbound leads. Manage company wide exclusion lists to filter out irrelevant data types. Qualify and research inbound leads to ensure alignment with the company’s target audience and strategic objectives. - Lead Nurturing & Qualification:
Oversee our existing lead nurture streams to ensure proper entry / exit based on engagement type. Develop contact interest by monitoring activity and handle ad-hoc direct outreach when appropriate. - Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with the SDR organization to determine key engagement criteria to indicate MQL readiness and establish a handoff process. Routinely follow-up and collect feedback on MQLs. - Campaign Support:
Partner with Marketing and Sales for pre and post campaign target list building. Ensure leads are properly imported & routed to Nurture, SDRs or AEs for follow-up post events, conferences & tradeshows. - Reporting & Metrics:
Monitor MQLs and conversions for tracking against our goals. Monitor nurture metrics against industry benchmarks. - Industry Knowledge:
Develop strong knowledge of Theta Lake product offerings, our market & key personas.

Compensation
$50,000/year to $70,000/year + performance bonus + equity + benefits
Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, location and market conditions. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include commission, equity or sales incentives, if applicable. We’re most excited if you also have some of these skills (or are ready to learn):
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, marketing or lead generation role, preferably in the software/technology industry.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools and platforms; proficiency is a plus!
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and tactics
- Experience using Hubspot, Salesforce, SalesLoft, RingLead, Outreach.io, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Google Apps is a plus.
- BA/BS Degree preferred.
